U.K's 'Better In Time' singer Leona Lewis is set to break a record this week. If her debut album 'Spirit' reaches number 1 on the billboard albums chart she will be the first British female artist to ever debut an album at the number 1 spot in US charts. Producers Clive Davis and Simon Cowell will be laughing all the way to the bank.Congrats to the singer. Her single 'Bleeding Love' was the first number 1 single from a British singer/act since 1987's 'You Keep Me Hanging On' cover of the Supremes by Kim Wilde.
It's thought that 'Spirit' has sold 205, 000 copies the most from a female artist since Carrie Underwood's 2005 release of 'Some Hearts' which sold 314, 500 copies in it's first week.
